Connect Community Groups were proud to be commissioned by LDSG Founders Janet and Karen in March 2023 to lead and develop the Lytham Dementia Singalong Group at Hope Church, 10 Preston Road, Lytham, FY8 5AA. Website: Dementia Singalong
With training in dementia support and as Playlist for Life Champions, Jayne and Phill ensured the group was musically accessible to everyone, uplifting and meaningful; and worked with Janet, Karen, Anne and the volunteers to offer a warm, inclusive space where people living at home with dementia, their families, friends, and carers could come together through the power of song to experience the joy of singing together and the many health benefits singing for creative health brings to everyone.
As the group grew and flourished from ten initial members to over forty regular participants, and with totally inclusive community Summer Singalongs at The Tent at Lowther Gardens and beautiful Love Is All Around Valentine’s Day events on top of the weekly Monday sessions, we were delighted to pass the baton in 2025 to the brilliant Chrissy Jones (Singing Mamas profile), who now leads the choir with heart, humour, and a lot of joy. The group is run and supported by the fabulous team at LDSG, led by founders Karen and Janet, who ensure everything runs amazingly smoothly with a caring, compassionate and fun atmosphere.
